I feel the need to make an entry today in spite of the fact I have not run much since the Judges race. There is a much different motivation now than before to run again. God seems to have impressed the fact that I need to run more in the spirit of Forrest Gump than in the spirit of competition or achievement. For me any other way leads to to an endless and elusive pursuit of goals that in the long run really do not matter in the grand scheme of things. I will however run as far and as fast as it is possible, so that I might make the most of what my creator has given me. St George here we come!

4 miles today. Just enjoyed the trail so no timing of the run. Form felt pretty good with the legs feeling fresh, but not fast.

Mainly an easy run today. SLCC loop with an added mile for extra distance. Ran in the afternoon, very hot.

Really freaking hot today to run at 2 pm. 100 degrees the thermometer said. It still felt good to get out though. SLCC loop course. Flat mainly with some mild grade changes of 1-2%.

Managed to get in 10 miles today untimed. I dont have a reliable internet connection anymore so my entries are sporadic needless to say. I think there might be a chance of being able to run St George well if I concentrate on Lydiard type training with faster LT training at the end of the run. But the key will be to start with short 5k speed intervals with equal or slightly more than equal rest periods. As training progresses the reps will get longer but slower along with the rest periods until we are down to marathon pace for 20-30 min stretches. This will serve as a way for the body and mind to become more economical and resilient when it is fatigued in the late stages of the race. This is the best plan I can come up with for right now. If you really think about it, running does not have to be rocket science a lot of the time. You just run.

10 easy miles today with a 3 mi AT time trial.   Too embarassed to log the results right now. Maybe later. Not as bad as I thought it would be though.  Taylorsville and  Redwood road.
